The next adventure project is underway!
Our advocate and board member, Mark Jennings-Bates is busy planning for his next adventure – The SUP4Life.
In September, Mark together with paddling partner Peter Dodenhoff will be setting off from the Delta Okanagan Resort and Conference Centre on a paddle around the entire Okanagan Lake.
The duo will take approximately ten days to paddle around the lake, stopping in at various public venues to meet the public and share their message of hope for people in Africa. The project will juxtapose the abundant clean water resources we have in the Okanagan compared to communities that Rally4Life works in in Africa.
Their hope is that you will join them in raising $30,000 for the project. You candonate to their project at this link
While Peter is very proficient at paddling and currently runs the CoolSurf SUP School in Kelowna, Mark is new to the sport and will very quickly be learning how to paddle in a variety of conditions. The team hopes that paddlers around the Okanagan will join them as they paddle through all of the waterfront towns. Local paddling star, Bob Purdy who paddled the entire length of the lake in less than a day last year will be joining them for a few legs.
We want to take this time to wish the team the best of luck and thank them for their efforts to raise money for the charity.
We would also like to thank the volunteers who have helped and are helping at the various locations throughout the Okanagan where the event is being promoted.
Stay tuned to www.Rally4Life.org to get more information on the official start date and meeting locations.
